Waxy maize after cardio?

I do 3 days of cardio and 2 days of lifting a week right now (with 30min cardio also on my lifting days). Right now I take 60g wazy maize with 10g creatine directly post workout, and then 30g protein right when I get home. I do this every time I go to the gym. Should I only do it on lifting days or is it ok to do it every time even if its cardio?

I would think it would still be a good idea because I would still want it to pull the creatine into my muscles as well as the protein afterword to combat muscle breakdown from the cardio, and the waxy maize and the whey should not go to fat from the insulin, but thats just a guess.

I think I answered my own question after a little more research. WM would still be good after the workout because it will go directly towards repleneshing glycogen stores in my muscles which have been depleted by the workout (cardio or otherwise).

Yeah but is WM better than oats or potatoes post cardio - i.e., something that has greater satiety and contains actual nutrition.

I think that's the real issue.

It's not going to make u fat post cardio if within your macros, but non-nutritive calories I think from a health perspective should be restrictive to when they are clearly beneficial - e.g., PWO.

Personally, potatoes+tuna or oats+whey would seem better post cardio to me from overall health perspective
