Water Weight?

I have a few questions about water weight, hope someone can explain to me. First, What should your water weight be? Next, I just got a body fat scale (I know its probally not the most accurate) But everytime my water weight drops down a couple of percent, it says that I have more body fat. I just dont understand, it kinda freaks me out about my progress so far, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
 
Scales suck. If it is like mine, it just bases things off of weight/height chart. Get some calipers
 
My scale has both ww and bf %, maybe we have the same one :)

According to the manual for a male you should be >53% (I think, don't have it handy)

Anyway, the scale uses the theory that an electrical impluse will travel through a tissue with lots of water (muscle) with less resistance than a tissue with little water (fat). Or something to that effect.

So as your ww goes down, your bf goes up, according to the measurement.

Anyway, like you say the accuracy is somewhat questionable we just use it as a reference.

Best scale is to look in the mirror ;)
 
Thanks for the help guys, I usually judge by looking in the mirror but that scale was on sale so I picked it up and I hate it!! Especially after a hard cardio session where I sweat a lot and I get home and just step on it to see how the water weight worked and BF, and I went up 7% BF in a hour!
