watching carbs

Everytime I am at work eating, people pay so much attention to the lack of "carbs" in my meals. Does anyone else get this kind of attention? Then when people are nosey enough to ask(usually somewhat overweight) I tell them that I don't eat simple carbohydrates. I believe there is a healthy way watch your carbohydrates. Don't eat simple carbs such as doughnuts, candy, KFC,etc. Supplement with EFA's and minerals. Eat lots of oatmeal and brown rice. Anyway these people are always arguing with me about the way I eat. They tell me I am going to have a heart attack like DR. Atkins. I am not on an Atkins diet. I have been lifting weights for 16 years and my body shows. I have more energy then anyone I know and can run circles around the people I work with. So why do people who are uneducated about carbs. become angry with me? Since I have adapted to cutting sugar all the hard work with weight training shows even more. I just wanted to know if anyone has this problem with people paying attention to the way you eat.
 
Yeah, people react strangely to me often. Then I go through the worthless process of explaining GI.. they never end up getting it, so I might as well just tell them that I have an eating disorder :P
 
I don't care. It just makes me want to eat alone because I get tired of explaining. I look at there bodies and then mine and laugh at them.
 
I get the same thing in my office and from my family from time to time, just curiosity... The American public got brainwashed in the 80's about carbs being so good for you.... People are ignorant about the biological value of food.... I have 2 or three protein shakes a day and at least one of those shakes has oatmeal floating around in it... You should see the looks I get.... Everyone assumes that low carb is atkins....
 
I get the same thing too. One day they mock my diet telling me how horrible it is (tuna, broccoli and oatmeal is all they ever see me eat). The next day they ask how I stay in shape (as they eat endless donuts, bags of Fritos and breakfast tacos). People's ignorance has no bounds. Screw em.
 
Heres my solution......
When your starting a new Job or a new class, tell your co-workers/classmates that your Diabetic. Bam. Problem solved. Your boss/instructor wont say anything when you have to eat every 2-3 hrs and avoid carbs.
 
people think of my diet and my training as freaky, why is beyond me, they can;t seem to 'understand' i enjoy making my body better inphysical prowess and see it all as a bit silly.

i never cut carbs! but i get the same thing ill sit down at lunch @ school and pull out a huge chicken sandwhich on wheat, carb solutions chips(because there good ) apple, broccoli, grahm crackers and i get the weirdest looks from people who are stuffing their mouths with pizza and god knows what else.


then when your sitting in class or walking through the halls eating a delisious protein bar everyone wants to know what the heck that thing is
