watched a guy die last night.

WELL,
as alot of you guys know i do nightclub security in Baltimore.
we have in my opinion a pretty good network for keeping troble at a minimum.it was 12:30, i was in my spot and watched a fight heat up.usually a bunch of guys will go at it.. somebody will get fucked up and we can get there and top the fight and wait for the cops.

(at HAMMERJACKS in baltimore they have differant crowds on differant nights friday is a really rough crowd)

every ounce in awhile people get knives through security. well last night all HELL broke loose! i jumped in, i was alone so i was real carful to watch my own ass. sure enough i grab thies two guys and i see two guys on the floor (soaked in blood) one of the guys got up and was cut up his arm and on his stomack the other guy was on the floor (out cold) he wasnt even bleeding that badly like the other guy so i didnt think it was that seriouse... he had been stabbed twice in the chest (punktured lung). everything was in slow motion and after about a second i got this chilling feeling like OH shit! luckly the police were right there by this time...the one of the knives was on the floor.i stepped on it to mqake sure it didnt disapear, i had the one that stabed the kid under my arm in a hold. the cops took him away. the kid died before he got to the hospital.

the skills are easy to learn and the classes arent that long or expensive at all.

I've worked door on and off for almost five years....some rough spots and some really rough spots.

It's a job i can no longer handle, as my temper flares at shit like this.

If any of you have been to halifax, you might have heard of a bar called "The Palace". One of the roughest spots to work in the province. Metal detectors at the doors, frisking EVERYONE etc.
The doorman get paid too little for the risks that they take. I have a lot of respect for the big guy at the front door.

The bar we were at is directly below another bar in the basement. The street level bar was having their weekly freestyle rap contest. I think there is a little money to win, but nothing worth anything really. Anyways, while my wife and I were in the basement bar, some pretty serious shit went down upstairs. Apparently two guys were having a rap battle. One guy dissed the other pretty bad and ended up winning the battle. The loser gets all upset and walks outside. Then, just for fun, he pulls out a 9mm and empties the clip through the front window on the bar. The winner was standing in the window at the time. He winged the guy in the arm and injured a few others, but no one got killed thankfully. He was immediately arrested and will spend some time playing bitch in the state prison. How stupid can you be? In the last three months we have had 6 people shot and killed in a three block radius of my apartment. And we live in one of the better areas of town. The thing is, my city doesn't believe in having any "ghettos" so they disperse the low income apartment in with the middle-upper class areas. So no matter where you go, you can't escape the ghetto. And I am not racist. I don't care what color ghetto you are, I just fucking hate all ghetto, white, black, yellow, red, blue, doesn't matter.

yeah man....size of the city has nothing to do with it.....I grew up in probably the crummiest small city in all of PA.....i feel safer in most parts of Philly than I do there.....i think it had the 125th highest violent crime rate in the US, higher than philly, and in the nieghborhood of cities like Trenton, etc.
