Was Shamrock ever any good?

Because watching him on Ultimate Fighter as their coach brings to mind that he is nothing but a complete sausage fest.

He seems like an immature toolbox. I've seen his old fights before but can't really recall if he'd stand up to any of the talent today. Dood sucks now though

he was good, but he is too old school for todays mma

and he is a bad coach,he points out flaws but doesnt help the guys fix them

He was one of the best till alot of the fighting styles changed to more of a "Gracy" type style.
The earlier UFC fighters were basically ex college wrestlers who used ground and pound tactics.

he was good back in the day when the matches were more of a straight up brawl. He said himself.."I like to brawl and do leg locks" ..thats his only game pretty much. If he fights Tito again, same outcome..major asswhippin.

How did Tito beat him last time?

And ever notice how Tito's eyes look lopsided in some cases.

On the last UF show, that pussy ass bitch quit the team because his girlfriend of six months thought he cheated on her. What a moron. Dana said it best. Fuck Noah.

Tito outclassed Shamrock in every way last time. He took Shamrock to the ground and demolished him. Even in the stand up Tito kicked his ass. Shamrock's old school ways won't cut it anymore with the way MMA has evolved.

I think Shamrock was good at one time, but hes washed up now.

My prediction is that Tito will PWN him again and he'll finally retire.....still talkin trash.

i respect shamrock for demanding respect but his mouth is writing cheques his ass cant cash anymore

See, that's the problem with Shamrock, he "DEMANDS" to be respected. He doesn't "command" respect. There was a time when Shamrock earned his respect, now he just expects it.

true i think respect is to be earned aswell not just given. however what tito did to start the feud was uncalled for

I dont think he is cocky at all. I think he is confident in his fighting and preperation. Look how cool of a coach he is, he is right in there with the guys busting his ass. not something a cocky prick would do.

when your a person big on respect shit like that will set it off, ken didnt do anything to tito when tito flipped off the corner

he was fuckin pumped after winning a big fight man..whats the big deal with that middle finger, i would have done the same damn shit. fuck the lions den, they were talking alot of smack.

thats hype and they are paid to hype a fight, more people watch when a fight is hyped and that makes a bigger pay day for everyone.

MMA is about respecting your opponent and its a sport, when the fights over shake hands and move on. no need to be a dick

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't think he's a prick at all, he's probably the best coach I've seen on UF.

what did tito do?

Shamrock is way too arrogant especially in his old age and also he's a horrible coach who can't apply or pass his knowledge to his team. He said on one episode he was trying to get his team fired up even if it meant picking a fight with Tito. How do you talk shit to someone that handed you a thourough ass whoopin and try to tell them you'll kick his ass. As for him still being a badass he was once bad but now he's horrible.

his brother Frank( not his blood brother) was better, Shamrcok seems to fall out with everyone - he does nt speak to hia brother anymore, rubs a lot of people up the wrong way

I recall Gracy chocking him out. Shamrock must have been 50lbs. lighter than what he is today.

Ken's still pretty bad ass. Some of his older Pride fights are pretty good

Early days of UFC when there was no time limit, played more to the endurance choke out game of the Gracie fighters. Once things switched over to timed rounds all the Gracie's did was bitch and pull out of fights.

Even with Royce's next fight in the UFC, he is still crying about the new rules.

I say give him no time limits, but bring back head butts and nut shots.

He couldn't withstand my headlock........... but then, nobody can.

true, even thought it's not really his brother

Seriously, Ken was very good in the early days. He fought Pancrase and beat some notable opponents including Bas Rutten. He learned submissions before submission wrestling was cool.

He comes off as a prick of a coach of the series, but I wished I could learn leg subs from him. He's truly one of the best leg/toes lock submission specialist in the world.
