"Fair taxation" is subjective....
There is no such thing as "fair" taxation because all taxation is force which means it's inherently unfair and immoral. I agree that no person is an island but a factory owner wasn't given a choice between private roads vs public roads. However, the wealthy owner of a factory also pays more taxes because they ship products and pay fuel taxes and other production taxes while a pedestrian in Manhattan is subsidized by the wealthy business owner and that increases the wealth of the pedestrian in Manhattan. Shouldn't the pedestrian using public transportation, paid for by the wealthy businessman, have to pay a premium to reimburse the rest of us that have our wealth stolen to pay for their lifestyle?
