seriously, does anyone know what those plants were? the aliens sprayed human blood on them to feed/fertilize them. were they some kinda food for the aliens to eat after they took over earth?

don't quote me on this but i think in the book it mentions that it's some kind of fungus or seed the martians are supposed to have brough with them from their planet

dont think movie ever mentioned they were martians, just aliens. maybe the book specified the aliens were from mars. was the fungus/seed brought to earth for food?

this was a good movie but would have been better if it came out ten or fifteen years ago before we got inundated with boring, loud CGI blockbusters.

tom cruise has lost his appeal. no need to back up that statement. would have been better if had more, well, masculine leading actor. kinda contrived back story with his kids to let us know TOM REALLY GOOD FATHER!

those alien tripods were kinda cool, the way they so ruthlessly zapped earth standing high above the ground. the toppling of that new jersey bridge was great. the bleak look of the film was perfect, like the end of the world was coming/had come.

other than that we have seen this movie before.

SIDEBAR: this is tom cruise's highest grossing film ever. his wacko behavoir certainly didnt hurt the box office of WOTT.

There's a movie of an incidence where they broadcast an adapted radio version live in American and the movie shows how the public reacted, taking it for real. I don't know if it's a true story or not but it was funny, "son, go get my shotgun, that guys got strange eyes."
