Yes the muscle builds with protein and amino acids, but the muscle prefers fatty acids as a fuel.

I know it sounds odd, but that is one reason low carb diets work so well for so many people.

Glucose is not the only fuel source in the body, fatty acids are as well, and muscle will function really well with fatty acids as a fuel source.

When I came across this when I was reviewing my biochemical pathways, it really stuck in my memory.

It is all related to anaerobic respirations and white type II (fast twitch) and aerobic, red type I (slow twitch) muscle as well.

I know, the bikini and the blonde hair sort of throws people off a bit................

you need to have a meal by meal routine to follow what your eating and to see where things may and may not be working for you. you should be eating every 2-3 hours and everything you eat should contain high amounts of protein. maybe try high reps for a while just to change your training routine up. or even find a new training program..

every since i have started working out i have always done high reps... Like a little over a month or so i started do more weight liter reps.. To see if that would make a difference... Could you give me an idea of what foods you eat every 2-3 hours.. I Just eat cans of tuna right out of a can... And when is it to late to eat your last meal??

Never too late for a last meal, I eat right before I go to bed, usually a combo of micellar casein, soya protein, tofu yogurt, whey protein..............

The area of diet is huge hun, and it can be very individual.

I would recommend you get a copy of Nelson Montana's e-book (on this site) or Tom Venuto's Burn the fat feed the muscle (has EVERYTHING to start out with in it).

You want good quality lean proteins, good carbs like oats, whole grains, brown rice, yams, loads of veggies, and good quality fats like olive oil, omega oils..............

chiken, red meats, tuna, salmon, brown rice, wholegrain bread, oats, eggs, milk, vegies (esp greens), salads, fruit. imo this is just a basic list of what you should be eating ED, i can think of heaps of different meals to make out of all that. never too late for a last meal as tatyana has already said. just try not to eat carbs before bed. i drink a protein shake right before i sleep also.
