Wanna Get Huge, Try Reverse Spotting

Im not sure if anyone has written about this in the past, but me and my freind started doing this on our own one day. We were on the bicep preacher machine doing negatives. Instead of him just helping me lift the weight he would push down on it as I tryed my hardest to keep it up. We realized that you could control the speed and intensity of the negative much better and go much harder.

If anyone is interested, you should try it like this. After a good ammount of warmup and sets, put on a weight you could do no more than 5 times on your own. have your freind help you lift it. When it gets to the top be prepared to pull as hard as possible. dont just try to keep the weight in the same place, rather try pulling it up the whole time. your friend should be pushing down on the weight as necessarry to keep it moving down at a medium slow speed (you should know what feels best for you).

This is not for the novice, rather if you are experienced and want to try something new try this one out. Totally boosts stength like crazy. Ive used it mainly for biceps but have tried it with other excersizes. Perform at your own risk. Gives you a nice Hurty pain.

My training partner and I (1997 and 2000) used to incorporate this method in our bicep training. . . it was rough!! This technique will break down muscle tissue.

Yep, thats why I no longer use fancy methods such as this.

I used to do these often. I use a drop set for biceps now that works real well for me. This is the thread:

My biceps recover very quickly, but not as quick as they used to. Probabally has something to do with the much greater amounts of weight I use now. Negatives always guarantee a good session.

I used to use these on lots of exercises...

Curls and bench mostly. Not much force on the negative...but just a bit.
