vitamins and muscle growth??

i was curious if taking a multi or something of this sort would contribute to muscle growth....im a college student so i dont get that well rounded diet, i do eat fruits and vegtables on a daily basis but would i benefit from a multi?

Ditto.

C and E vitamins might be of value due to anti-ox properties, beneficial effects upon immune system and ability to blunt (somewhat) cortisol and relieve post-oxidative stress

B-vits are essential to energy and nutrient partitioning, as well as neural functioning

But overall if you're a BB'er I wouldn't worry about spending $$ on vits - get them from the tonn of food you should be consuming, but don't forget variety (veggies, fruit, meats/fishes, nuts - whatthefuckeverVARIETY)

I'd definitely recommend taking a vit c supp, because your body tends to be prone to infections when you're straining it.

You just have to look at the number of posts from people that have got the flu!

As far as supplimenting vitamins in an effort to gain additional muscle- it won't happen. The body uses the vitamins it needs and excretes the rest. Only 10-15% of the nutrients in a multi-vitamin are absorbed anyways; your body prefers vitamins and minerals from food. So you'll be wasting your money if your buying expensive multi-vitamins.

The body gets energy and grows from the right amount of calories (protein, carbohydrates and fats) in the proper proportions. Theres really nothing else that does not have side-effects (eg. steroids, growth hormone, insulin, etc..) thats going to help you grow.
