I get my Vit E with a multi vitamin twice a day and from Fish oil depends how much I take. Some times I take 20 soft gels a day, sometimes more or less. Damn the heartburns from Fish Oil and ALA.
 
get the d-alpha-tocopherol

I suggest the natural d-alpha-tocopherol, not the synthetic dl form, is best. Considering that the natural form has been shown to be up to 50 percent more potent than dl-alpha-tocopherol (a synthetic version), it might be an obvious choice, so read the label closely on the multivitamin or antioxidant formula.

Anywhere from 400 to 1,200 IU's, taken daily, is a typical range. The more active the person, the greater amount the body may need.
 
I only take 400 IU daily and don't worry about missing a day as it is Fat Soluable and will build up to toxic levels if you take too much.
Vitamin C and Beta C is where it is IMO for anti-Oxidants
 
I can't site specifically why but I do remember that MD mag thinks that bodybuilders should not use vitamin e. I'll check out why and post later. Remember that vitamin E is not essential and any way.
 
I take what is in my multivitamin ( 60 IU) that I take twice a day and alsos a 400 IU supplement...all alpha version. Is that OK? I remember reading somewhere something to the effect that taking too much alpha without the other versions could imbalance your storage.
 
I take 400 iu's daily when I'm not dieting, and 800-1200 iu's to squelch extra free radicals when I am.
