Apparently, I have somehow been infected with some sort of virus. If any of you get a bizaare email from me that makes no REAL sense and HAS AN ATTACHMENT....DO NOT OPEN IT!!! DELETE IT!!!

I don't have a fucking clue HOW this happened or how to fix it, but since a lot of you have been in email contact with me... I wanted to give you a "heads up".

I am very sorry if this has caused any one an inconvenience.

I have NO FUCKING CLUE how this happened or how this shit works!

I need this now like I need a whole in my head! :mad:

Again, I am truly sorry if this has negatively affected anyone.
 
There's a particularly insidious one going around. If you use Outlook Express, close your preview window, because it will open the virus automatically. It's in a doc file.
 
so thats what it was?? WELL SHIT! I already opened it...:( so therefore...hmmmm, does anyone know whats gonna happen next???

are you on a dsl connection? My understanding is that if you aren't, not much will happen. That's what a friend told me. I have NO idea if it's true.
 
one quick question.....

are you saying that If you use Hotmail ( for instance) for your mail - does that prevent you from these types of viruses??
 
the really deadly one out htere right now is a worm and it only does damage to Outlook Express, I believe. You should look up the name of the virus -- go back and look at the email -- and then go to mcafee.com
 
The file name of the virus is "YOU are FAT.MP3" and contains a virus. I got it in my hotmail account just yesterday and the day before, but of course I didn't open it!

GONER is making it attempt against our firewalls and Exchange internet filters. it is failing for the most part.

Damn, microsoft is such a soft target...
 
I have multiple email address at work because of the different fitness centers i work at. I recieved the "HI" Goner virus today in 3 of my inboxes. I right clicked and deleted them all. Is that all i have to do?
