You should be, the parts would be insane to replace.

This is for zip code 20850 BTW

I don't know WTF Manheim is but I use Kelly's blue book and the difference there is almost $10,000.

I think what this also shows is that Supras hold their value WAY better than Vipers cos Supras are reliable and Vipers are notorious for mechanical failures including blowing oil lines.

Also note the race was a 3.0 L V6 vs. an 8.0 V10.

You buy a 1996 Supra, put $6000 in mods on it and it'll BLOW THE DOORS off a stock 1996 Viper GTS, you'll have $2000 left over to play with, AND you can use it as a daily driver AND it'll spend less time in the shop AND regular maintenance will cost less.

Any more questions?

Class dismissed.

Who owned who???

You are all a bunch of sheep....

I own a car dealership......I think I'm a little more in tune with the market then anyone posting on this thread.

First: Kelly Blue Book, is published by the automotive industry to give you, the uneducated idiot consumer an idea what you should pay for a car.

Second: No online source other than www.manheim.com, will give you even close to an idea of a car's market value, and unless you have a dealer's license, you can't even look.

Third: Market value is dictated by resale + number of that specific car for sale or that have sold in a set period of time ie: fiscal quarters. (explanation to the layperson, you couldn't find 5 1996 Supra Twin Turbo's with 10000 miles on them if your life depended on it, thereby making this a rare and collectable car) So throw all your little internet price guides out the window little girls cause they don't mean shit in the real world.

Fourth and Finally: If you or anyone else can find me one 1996 Twin Turbo Supra with 10000 miles on it for $23,000, please p.m. me and I will pay you a $2500 finders fee. (that car will retail on my lot for $31,000 all day long.

Owned clearly not.

Class Dismissed.:)

Wow, a bunch of tards......

My guess not a single one of you has ever owned a Viper.....

I've had 7.....most recently a Black Hennessy 03' RT/10......

There is no comparison........

Take two stock cars......a 96 RT/10 with 10000 miles on it...
And a stock Supra Twin Turbo......with 10000 miles on it.....

Book value is the same.......and the actually purchase price would be the same if you could find two such cars to compare.....and buy

Any way you want to look at it......in stock form the Supra would get it's ass handed to it every time......

You wanna talk mods????

Ok........put $5,000 in the Supra.......whatever you want.....
And I'll put $5,000 in a stock RT/10 gears, header, exhaust, and better airflow........and once again the Viper will contiune to walk away from the Supra.......

LMAO! First of all the blue book value is not the same as Lumberg pointed out (Kelly's blue book is one of the standards). It may be close but it's not the same.

Secondly, your point basically shows that the DEPRECIATION value of the Viper is a piece of shit compared to the "rice burner" Supra. Supra's hold their value, Viper's don't. The cost of a Viper is nearly twice that of a Supra, yet after some miles are put on it they are valued nearly the same.

Oh and another thought to the fast and furious queers.
In 1996 the Toyota Supra Twin Turbo retailed for $48,000, the Dodge Viper RT/10 retailed for $52,000. A $4,000 difference, take that $4,000 grand and beat any one of the stock Viper's I have owned, I dare ya. I races some douchebag in a 97' Twin Turbo last summer. This ginsel had $80,000 tied up in his Jap Crap......

Wasn't even close......What was I in??? An 03' Hennesy RT/10 sticker price with mods.....$81,000.

'

You keep using Kelly's as your baseline.

Idiot's like yourself keep me in business.

If I buy a car to race, go fast, modify, or whatever, I for one don't give a shit if it depreciates or not.

And my point showed that the Supra is a rare car with that kind of mileage. Mainly because little kiddie's are constantly racing them up and down the highways racking up the miles, or wrecking the shit out of them because they saw The Fast and Gay one too many times

I've seen the specs on the F&F Supra and it's not as fast as I would have thought.
