This is the second time I've drew blood from that spot when aspirating. I use a 1.5" needle, and I feel like I am hitting the exact right spot, and I attached the picture of the directions that I am following to hit the ventro spot. I thought ventroglute (side hip) has the least amount of veins and blood vessels to hit just like dorso glute (upper corner glute).
Also, are there any lymph nodes on the ventrogluteal area? Comparing the inner thighs which I remember hearing are full of lymph nodes, the feeling of something like "muscle fibers" vs. "smooth muscle" as compared to the outer thigh. Well, as I get closer to the hip towards the illiac crest I feel more of that "muscle fiber" feeling and kind of feel like there might be lymph nodes in that area that you can risk hitting with ventro, what other things to watch out for in the ventro spot.
If anyone can provide any insight please do, thanks brothas.
