vegies on a carb-UP?!

can i have hi sugar vegies on a carbup? sweet potato, carrot, betroot etc? I stay away from fruit, but are vegies ok?
 
Definately. Feel free to eat tomatoes, potatoes(white/sweet/yams) and even corn. I used to have some fructose during my carbups without too much trouble. I love sweet things like syrup, ice cream, low fat pastries, etc.. and if you look at the ingredients you will usually find high fructose corn syrup listed up pretty high. Never seemed to cause me any troubles with spill over.
 
did you take r-ala pre meals as well?
what did your carb-up day diet look like - was it structured or random?
 
I've done refeed both strictly and randomly. I think strictly is a bit safer but if you can control yourself to some extent then going by feel is still good. What I did was have one good meal that day without any prerequisites, then on the rest of the meals I focused on low fat/high carb. For instance I love breakfast so I usually went out to IHOP or something and got a huge french toast or waffle breakfast meal. Loaded with fat and carbs but it was my one change to eat what I wanted. Then the following day I generally ate as much as I wanted, just I was a bit more careful of my fat intake.

I have a hard time going strict on a refeed mainly because it is my one day to really enjoy myself. If I had to count calories and weigh my food just like my other days then it wouldn't be as rewarding to me. I think you CAN screw yourself up on refeeds if you completely ignore any kind of eating pattern and just gorge endlessly on things like french fries and other fatty foods with lots of sugar. However the average person can get by just eating as much as they want so long as they keep the ballpark ratios in tact.
