vampire history

Ok, what is the supposingly true history about vampires. Dracula is suppose to be the first. But so many movies change the plot of how he came to be it never cements the legend.

In Dracula 2000 he was Judas and denied entry into death or heaven. Which is why the Bible offended him and silver hurt him. Crosses had no effect either.

In Interview With A Vampire, Lestat said that Dracula was just a story. Lestat was turned by Louis but they never said who turned Louis or how the first one came about. Which is why again, crosses, garlic and silver had no effect on him. Daylight did.

In another version he was Vlad the Impaler and as punishment the heavens forced him to live forever until someone could kill him by impaling him (with a stake) like he did so many others.

God you're such an attention-whoring MOD.

Are you like this in the gym as well?

The "real" story is the one from Bram Stocker

One movie version of it has that vampires were created by the antibody resistance to the great plagues back in historical times. Doctors incubitated a strain of the black plague along with various herbs and drugs thought to cure it. The mix was then injected into the unborn fetus and later after birth the fetus was killed and it's blood harvested in hope that it had produced antibodies. But the people that were injected with this primitive type of vaccine found themselves losing their blood cells very rapidly and thus had to replenish the blood supply by drinking the blood of others. The thing about daylight was just a myth. But after feeding they would be in some kind of zoned out state and wouldn't move for quite a long time, like a python after a long meal only longer and that gave notion to the rumor they were dead and slept like corpses.

search on Anya in Chat for vampire. I was actually foolish enough to answer this question maybe a year ago. I outlined the history in both culture and cinema.

Lestat made Louis, Lestat was made by Magnus and they all descend from "Those Who Must Be Kept"

Actually, I believe "Those Who Must Be Kept" were descended from one of the two twin sisters weren't they? They pissed off some spirit that possessed them and wouldn't leave, thereby starting vampires or something to that effect.

Isnt Vlad the impaler still considered a savior in Romania?

He had a skin condition which made him very sensitive to sunlight and was fond of impalign his enemies.. from what I understand he eliminated much of the corruption in the Romanian government during his reign and empowered his people.

I always thought he was a count in th crusades whose family was killed so he through a spear or soemthing at jesus ont eh cross and then ended up drinking the blood that poored from the cross (can't remember but I think a demon told him to)

My memory is foggy on all this

I'm pretty sure it started from Those Who Must Be Kept, that's why The Queen of the Dammed had the core inside her, but it's been so long since I've read those books that I'm not 100% sure anymore.

Let me get this strait. You can become a vampire if they bite you? Some people die though right?
Vampires can't have children. They stop aging when they become a vamp.
Why are people scared of vampires. If Pam Anderson was a vampire I would let her bite me. You could have unprotected vampire sex and not have to worry about STD's or children.
This just seems to good to be true!
