USPS and fedex

i just heard on the news that fedex will be handling some of usps packages (express, priority) any cons or pros to this?

usps and fedex have an agreement, fedex rents space on its planes to usps and usps lets fedex put drop boxes in P.O.

in theory, this will speed up all mail deliveries. contract worth $1.3billion.
