USP25, USP24 definition please

We see the term USP25 and USP24 used to describe the grade of a chemical. Many of the research chemicals we purchase as well as paper products , etc. seem to be USP24. While I know this is a lesser grade, I would like to know the difference. I suspect not much. But would like to find out more. Have done a google search and did run across definitions. If anyone has a background in this , can you fill me in or point me in the right direction.

Only time I have seen USP25 in relation to AS is the BTG Oxandrin. I believe they are the only ones that use a USP25 Ox powder. That would probably be the reason people report better gains with less products. If yo order anything in a powder ask for a COA. it shold detail the purity of the product.

DW nailed it. They're just levels of purity, all of which are pretty high, but some will argue that a higher USP will really make a difference because impurities can work against the drug.

Theoretically, that 1% impurity could be feces.

Thats the point I am after. These claims that USP25 produces so much better results based on a obscure 1% difference in purity would not seem logical to me. Someone put down that the impurities could actually decrease the benefits.

Come on, I would have to actually work hard to think of an impurity that would work against the 99% active ingredient.

Someone said that the impurities could be feces. Sure, but it would not cause the effects of USP24 to be less than USP25 if there was only 1% difference in purity.

I am concerned that the 1% could be something like heavy metals that could accumlate over time or Arsenic.

Still waiting for a real definition so we can shed some light on this instead of just guessing.

Note I said "some will argue" concerning the 1% negating some effect of the drug.

I don't think it's a coincidence that BTG var which is USP25 works much better than an equally dosed chinese var which claims to be USP23. Could be other expedients in the BTG, but higher quality drugs do seem to be more effective.

In some reactions, selenium dioxide or mercury is used. We just have to hope that no such residues are in the powder. Other impurities like the starting steroid should not pose any problems at all.
