could saw palmetto have any negative effects when a teenager(19) uses it. i think i have early signs of a swollen prostate cuase i get up at least 5-6 times throught the night to piss. could it have effects on sexual devolopment(dht is needed to devolop sexually) i would like to start using it to protect my hair and prostate. ive heard conflicting views that it only protect the prostate cuase of its anti-inflammatory properties. or does it actually work like proscar(reducing dht).

did you discuss the urination w/ a doctor? you may just have an irritation of the prostate that could be treated with antibiotic

Get a blood test to check your testro and estradiol hormone levels. If the esrto level is >30pmol/l you need the saw palmetto and zinc.

Most doctors I have talked with have limited knowledge about these issues. There is so much info and so little time read aboout it, plus there plenty of other ailments to follow up on too.
