you guys forgot to mention that if you are designated an "enemy combatant" you are stripped of all rights. every single one. i believe pat act 2 is expanding the bounds of what an enemy combatant is too.... As much love as i have for what this country stood for, i am thinking more and more about switzerland these days.

I really truly love what this country stands for....but the government is not the country, and it's moving away from that....let's hope it is simply an ebb and flow rather than a degeneration towards tyranny..

Brothers....I don't say this to be negative, but the end of many things is upon this world. This Iraq war will likely turn into WWIII. THE USA WILL NOT START IT! However, I really believe other nations will take what happens in Iraq as their chance to make a move. It will not be a 10-day quickie like the last one. Saddam is a caged animal, and an animal is most dangerous in only two situations....when it's caged and must fight or when it's protecting its young.
I knew when 9/11 happened that life in the USA was over as we knew it. It was the beginning of radical changes Americans would normally never tolerate. The average American sheep will sell liberty to feel secure. They will have neither.
When the Homeland Security Act passed, I really cleaned up my Internet traffic. Although the feds might be watching everything I was doing up to then, they legally couldn't use it. Now, the slate (legally-speaking) is blank, and I keep it that way.
I see two outcomes for this year. One is that America degenreates into a police state where we have no freedom anymore all to be "safe" from terrorism. The other is that enough Americans rise up to "revive" our nations traditional values.
Yes, religion would be part of such a revival, but for all anyone would dare criticize, commie nations spent decades infiltrating our culture with a single objective....break down our religious faith and replace it with humanism. They recognized that our faith in God (even if you're an atheist, this is still true) gave us the strength to overcome. That's why communist societies eliminate religion ASAP....to make the people dependant on the government, instead of God, for all their needs.
America has to return back to it's roots. I do hope that when disaster comes to our shores, Americans find their collective backbone and stand up to all oppressors....especially those within our own government who would claim to be our protectors. Maybe then we'd see a return to the promises in the Constitution that have long been eroded away.

Baby Gorilla, you are right except about Humanism. The existance of God is central to the tenents of Humanism.
Humanists believe that God exists WITH-IN the human being and is expressed through transendental feelings as basic as love, kindness, laughter- -qualities that transend all races, religions, politics, etc.

As for what chemical I had or didn't have, it's meaningless as it is also meaningless as to what your judgement of WHATEVER chem it was. I was told it was legal BY THE FEDS and then we all wake up one morning and our doors are kicked in. The point is that such was for a legal chem and then one day because Johnny Law don't like it, it's illegal even though nobody was notified. This is just an example of ONE CHEMICAL and an illustration that it can and will happen again.
OOOOPs! It already happened again with legal products with operation headupsmokingass where Johnny Law wakes up one day and decides legal business selling legal products are now guilty of breaking paraphenalia laws. Could you be any more stupid? I hope you bought something from one of those companies and you are now on their mailing list and Johnny Law now has you in his database and will be coming after you just like they did with the 5000 names garnered from a company selling GBL in Canada!
