Uneven lockout=bomb !

I got a good squat, bombed in the bench, opener--shirt ripped, 2nd uneven lockout=3 reds, third, same. Bomb-out ! Does anybody notice that one arm seems to be stronger than other and what did you do about it ? I have a nerve problem in my neck and have noticed left arm seems weaker. After treating possible neck problem what next ?

After ME Bench movement, do 5 boards for triples or so raw, once you have had the weight handed off, hold for at least three seconds, do a rep and repeat for a triple, seems to work and helps build stabilizers for me.

Weight weight class and what did you squat and bomb on bench, just curious, i did the same when i couldn't get mine to touch well enough, you'll get it next time.

Suggestions look good thanks. 242lb weight class, 52yo. Squat 358, that's pounds. Bombed at 275 in bench, was hoping to bench 315, pull 400. Have arthritis in hips which is keeping squat numbers down but hate the idea of doing bench only meets. Ripped a KarinDD wide open left chest, had it sewn up once before, I threw it in the trash.

I'm hearing you on that dude. Had knee surgery, took about a month off and did a meet 6 months after the surgery, dumb move on my part. I too hate the thought of just doing push pulls, really like the full meets, but what can you do.

I bombed on bench back in June at a NASA nationals, 425 and couldn't get it to touch in my new Metal shirt, it touched just not deep enough so I sat there for 5 seconds until they told me to press. Needless to say, I was gassed from dropping 15 pounds in 9 days down to 198, nobody's fault but my own, should have spent more time learning the shirt and less time popping oreos and grilled cheese.

I do believe there is stength to be found in oreos and grilled cheese...(at least it sounds good.) 15lbs in 9 days is too much for most anyone I imagine.

Learning those damn shirts - important stuff to say the least. I had hard time getting mine to touch as well, and was then afraid of the weight in my hands to get it to touch. Practice makes perfect where the shirts are concerned...and all equipment really.

Has that happen before or just in this meet?

I had that problem. I moved my grip out further with the arm that is weaker. I started with light weigh and worked my way up. After a few workouts the uneven lockouts disappeared.

First time it happened was in this meet. 275 is an easy opener for me and even when the shirt ripped I locked it out. Got one white light on last one--still at 275 but there is something wrong with a nerve or something. I did some 315s a couple weeks before and something about the weight squeezing me into the bench did something to my neck and I feel this tingling in my left elbow and started to notice the left arm felt weaker.

It is better now and I am hoping to come back for one more meet, I would like a comp 400 pull and an 1100 total before I am too busted up to do it any more.
