Undertraining.

So its a training question but its cause of the juice that I need to ask it ;)

Anyway, I'm doing a 5x5 ala madcow's variation, tho still slightly modified, and now i'm 2 weeks into my cycle and i'm starting to push a lot more weight around on some of my lifts, but come the next day the onlything that is sore anymore is my lower back... I'm guessing the extra test is just making me recover that much faster it seems.

Anyway, what do you all think I should do in terms of my regimen? add in an extra day or two? bump up the sets/reps some? or should i just leave it the same... help a noob out here :(

I use the 5x5 when "on" and "off" cycle, I love it. When on AAS though I never get sore and will generally throw in a couple extra sets if my body feels up to it. Because everyone is diffrent, no one can say if your overtraining or undertraining. Through trial and error you have to figure out what works best for you, listen to your body.

When "on" I train like a madman. You will know if you are overtraining. You will be able to train much harder when "on". Give it hell and grow! :chomp:

overtraining while "on" is overrated in my opinion. pound it hard, heavy and long while on AAS cycle.

Soreness is not a good way to gauge how well your workouts are going. If the lbs are moving or the scale is moving then you're doing something right. 5x5 routines are awesome and if you're really pushing the most weight you can then I don't see a way you could possibly be undertraining.

Yeah, i'm really bumping up the weight, and started doing increasing weight each set. Such as 2 weeks ago i was doing 205 for most sets with a few at 225, I could have gone a little higher but don't have a spotter, and now I'm already starting at 225, and bumping it up until i hit 275lbs for my last set of 5. Rows, pull ups, military presses all going up, I'm heavily regulating my squats and deads tho, they are currently WAY too easy but still going up. Can't move them up to fast for fear of back injury because my lower back is too weak, and don't have anywhere to do reverse hypers :(.

I keep an eye on how my joints feel, that's how I set my limits. I've had injuries in the past and I don't want to go through it again.
