understanding strongman results?

MsBeverlyHills said:
kinda confusing..maybe you guys could help me out here.

so like in this contest- Jason Gabor log pressed 13 times & got 16 pts & not 13 points?? so what does 39.03 farmers walk mean? is that feet he walked? And how did he flip a tire 39.87 times??? does the stones number mean 5 stones lifted in 17.38 seconds? lol.. sorry if these are obvious questions.

thanks for the help :)

Jason got 13 reps on the log, I believe giving him 1st place in that event. This means maximum points to him...16. Next event he went the full distance in 39.03 seconds with the farmers, getting 11 more points. Tire flip, went the distance in 39.87 seconds, 2nd place, 15 points. Stones, he did all 5 stones in 17.38 seconds, 1st place, 16 points, subtotal of 58 points. Deadlift he did 12 reps giving him 12 points...which is actually incorrect. There should have been a 3 way tie at 12 reps, each getting 10,5 points....or 11 maybe. Would not have changed the final outcome though.

On the other hand...Jason Gabor is one lucky man if YOU are looking after him.

gotcha.. so the scoring is based on times- the lowest times gets the most points. Except on DLs or log press when reps count, not times.

YOu basically have it right. Dione (with NAS) likes to give the best result the most points and the highest score wins at the end of the day. I have always liked to give the best result 1 point and the lowest score wins. Makes it easier for me to keep score at a contest.

Random...yeah...ok ;)
