Ultimate Gainskeeper formula

I'd like people to post what they consider to be the best formula to keep gains after a cycle. Also, if you can briefly state why you think each particular part of this formula works. This includes drugs, supplements, diet, workouts, everything. Thanks.
 
Copied from a dbol response I posted earlier but most recommedations are pertinent here:

Here are a few tricks I used that seemed to be very effective over the years. I tended to use less drugs, put on more size/strength, and keep more than anyone else I knew so maybe this helps some of you out. I don't pretend to know everything but a lot of trial and error (on myself although responsibly) yeilded this info:

-taper down to at least 15mg (for dbol) and I even go out a week afterward until I'm down to 5mg daily (people will tell you you don't need to do this with clomid and that it is outdated but then again these are often the guys bitching about losing all their gains from dbol. I would combine the taper and still use clomid.) Nobody used to bitch about losing all their dbol gains until clomid/hcg became super popular and nobody bothered to taper. This was the ultimate roid for years and it's pretty damn good in my opinion.

-concentrate on increasing key lifts (dead, squat, bench). You should be doing them naturally anyway or you have really shortchanged yourself. When you come off lighten up and decrease the volume on your assistance exercises. However, you should concentrate on maintaining these key lifts - like 4x5 weekly with relatively heavy weight. After 4-5 weeks you can up the volume on the rest of the exercises again and start training full force.

-short cycles - low dosages (took whatever I needed to gain and made an effort to train and eat as effectively as possible). This caused less interuption in my system and was much easier to recover HPTA and get back to normal. Typical cycles were shorter than 6 weeks with only a few exceeding that.

-time off - I hardly ever exceeded 2 cycles per year so my gains solidified through natural training and my starting points were always natural (I find guys who use the time on/time off and then immed. cycle again lose lots when they stop for 6 months to a year unless they've used very moderate dosages and have been meticulous - this is probably why they don't come off for long periods)

-I also liked to stack compounds. I did this so that I could get the synergistic effects of multiple compounds and was able to get the same total effect with less mg's than using a single drug. I think nowadays most use it as an excuse to take more drugs as I see plenty of guys running full cycle dosages of multiple drugs.

-When stacking I always finished/tapered with an anabolic. Winstrol orals were a favorite although if I had better access to anavar I would have used it. This allowed me to keep my gains from the other drugs while my body's HPTA returned to normal.

-obviously diet is key so eat enough protein but I'm not going to cover it here.

It's ironic this was posted, because I was about to post something concerning D Bol tapering. My first cycle started Sunday, which was going to be sust at 250mg. per week for eight weeks, and 25 mg. D Bol for four, and the usual clomid three weeks after the last shot. However, after reading a post here concerning D Bol dosage, I've decided to run it for six weeks at 30,25,20,15,10,5. I know this may seem extreme to many, but my theory is by tapering, there won't be such a drastic change inside my body at once, therefore I'll be able to keep more of the gains. This may be totally wrong, who knows? I guess I'll find out soon enough. What is everyone elses opinions?
 
Anavar definatly.
Because it doesnt affect the HPTA, you can stay anabolic and strong while using clomid to get the hypothalmus pumpin FSH and LH again.
 
Fantastic post bud. This is basically the way I will approach my cycles if I ever do one. Seems to make more sense to me.

You'll be happy with the effects from this and you will still get some synergy farther out on the cycle after the test kicks in. If you follow the rest of the info outlined above you should do very well on this.

I also like the responsible dosages which are so rare on this board. It seems like every newbie is using 1 gram + weekly.
 
Good post. One thing though.


TAPERING DBALL IS USELESS.

It has such a short half-life that tapering achieves
pretty much nothing. it will not help you up-reguate
LH and HPT function faster.

There is only one possible way to use dball for
gains-retention purposes while at the end of a cycle.
(Dball btw CAN ALSO BE USED AS A BRIDGE)

Which is:

1. Take your entire dosage upon waking up.

20mg upon waking up will NOT suppress your HPTA.
(Dball used in the morning ony has the same minimal
HPTA suppression effects as Anavar used throughout the
day)
