“The Ultimate Fighter: The Comeback” is set to debut Thursday, Aug. 17 at 10 p.m. on Spike. The fourth season will focus on fighters whose dream of winning a UFC title have never come true. The 16 former UFC fighters - eight middleweights and eight welterweights - are already gathered in Las Vegas for production of the series, which begain yesterday.

Added to the drama of these guys all living in one house is the fact that some of them are former rivals, bringing revenge and redemption into the equation. The winning middleweight and welterweight will earn title fights and a six-figure cash prize.

“The Ultimate Fighter 4 is the comeback season and it’s going to be the most exciting yet,” said UFC president Dana White. ‘Everyone knows these fighters, but it’s going to be a totally different show and we’re pumped to get started on it.”

Instead of coaches for the two teams, prominent UFC personalities will serve as advisors and counsels for the 16 fighters. They include Randy Couture, Georges St. Pierre and Mark Delagrati.

dude , this is SO going the direction of MTV and "The Gauntlet" et. al. . Lets see if it works for them .

They are both established names - this should continue to be a forum for unknowns coming off local and regional shows to have a chance to step up into the big leagues.

Now I do approve of a whole new concept of "Ultimate Fighter - Celebrity Edition" where we can finally end some debates about who is tougher than who.

Joe Rogan vs Wesley Snipes
Michael Clarke Duncan vs "Tiny" Lister
Kevin James vs ____________ ?
Paris Hilton vs Lindsay Lohan
etc.

I can't wait. Just wish I knew what fighters were participating.

i am a mma fighter and i can tell you for a fact mikey burnett is one of the fighters on the show!...he left our gym when filming of the next season started...he should dominate his weight division easily!

TUF 4 fighters

The show is scheduled to premiere August 17 on Spike TV.

The winner of each weightclass will get an automatic title shot. The show will also abandon the role of coaches and instead use advisors like Randy Couture and George St. Pierre.

There are some familiar names on that list to current fans like: Jorge Rivera, Patrick Cote, and Nick Diaz. One interesting name on the list is Keith Hackney. For those of you that remember Keith Hackney fought in some of the early UFC's. Hackney is probably is most famous for his fight against sumo wrestler Emmanuel Yarborough at UFC 3. Or the night he decided to make Joe Son's testicles into his personal punching bag.

The fighter I'm most looking forward to return is Lion's Den fighter Mikey Burnett. His first fight at UFC 16 was and the beatdown he hands out to infamous Luta Livre Eugenio Tadeu is a must see. Actually the best part is the totall look of shock that Tadeu has on his face walking out of the Octagon. One can only wonder how his carrier would have turned out if he didn't break his hand that night. If you guys remember Pat Miletich ended up winning that Lightweight tourney, and the rest is MMA history.

Middleweights
-Jorge Rivera
-Patrick Cote
-Charles McCarthy
-Keith Hackney
-Gideon Ray
-Mark Weir
-Edwin Dewees
-Travis Lutter

Welterweights
-Matt Serra
-Chris Lytle
-Shonie Carter
-Rich Clementi
-Mikey Burnett
-Pete Spratt
-Nick Diaz
-Din Thomas

i cant wait to see mikey burnett back in the octagon...he has always been a awsome wrestler...and all these years since his last ufc he has been traning his ass off especially his stand up...incase you guys didnt know mikeys brother scott is a awsome boxing instructer and tranes the world class boxer allen green who fights on espn regularly...and i can tell you for a fact you will never meet a nicer guy then mikey burnett...he is as real as they come!...just a great guy outside of the cage!...i hope he takes it all!

I wish they would put Tito and Shamrock in that house together. That would be some interesting shit watching those guys go at.
