UFC 58 Predictions

The card for Saturday's UFC event is as follows:

Franklin vs. Loiseau
St. Pierre vs. Penn
Marquardt vs. Doerkson
Swick vs. Vigneault
Edwards vs. Hominick
Florian vs. Stout
MacDonald vs. Lambert
Murphy vs. Midoux
Sanchez vs. Alessio

Who do you pick to win each fight and by what method?

Example: Franklin def Loiseau - TKO Strikes

Franklin vs. Loiseau : Loiseau by TKO strikes

St. Pierre vs. Penn : GSP by TKO strikes

Marquardt vs. Doerkson : Doerkson by TKO ref stoppage via G n' P

Swick vs. Vigneault : Swick, by an unknown means because it was so fucking fast

Edwards vs. Hominick : Could be a great match, no prediction, but winner via clean knockout

Florian vs. Stout : Florian via submission

MacDonald vs. Lambert : MacDonald via decision

Murphy vs. Midoux : No idea. Both seems like tomato cans, IMO.

Sanchez vs. Alessio : As much as I hate to say it, Sanchez via G n' P. Christ, would they find a decent fighter for this clown already?

Franklin vs. Loiseau: Franklin by strikes or submission
St. Pierre vs. Penn: Penn by submission, but if GSP takes it to a decision he can win.
Marquardt vs. Doerkson: not a clue
Swick vs. Vigneault: Swick by strikes
Edwards vs. Hominick: Edwards by TKO
Florian vs. Stout: Florian by submission
MacDonald vs. Lambert: not a clue
Murphy vs. Midoux: I've trained with Tom Murphy, he's from my hometown, Murphy by strikes, baby!
Sanchez vs. Alessio: Sanchez by strikes

See the previous thread on GSP vs Penn about my thoughts on that match along with the Franklin/Loisea match. Sanchez vs. Josh Burkman maybe? Burkman garaunteed victory against Sanchez after his last fight against Drew Fickett.

Swick vs. Vigneault : Swick, by an unknown means because it was so fucking fast

What a great line

UPDATES

Due to illness, welterweight contender Diego Sanchez has been forced to withdraw from his match with John Alessio on this Saturday’s UFC 58 card at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. There will be no replacement opponent for Alessio, and the UFC 58 – USA vs Canada card will go on with eight bouts.

Boston lightweight Kenny Florian has been scratched from his Saturday bout with Canada’s Sam Stout after suffering a back injury in training. More info to come when it becomes available.

I think Pen will lose. Ring rust, and the fact it has been a long time since he has faced someone witht hat kind of talent.

I actually think "the Crow" might take Franklin...However, I think Rich will play it cerebral..Stay away from those fuckign elbows

After seeing Franklin's training methods on that UFC show its hard to go against him. Loiseau has bad ass elbows though - he busted up Evan Tanner really fast once he was in Tanner's guard.

I like Franklin by an early 1st round KO, but if it goes a couple rounds the chance than Loiseau can get some elbows on him goes up and then its likely to be ref stoppage on cuts in favor of Loiseau.

Wish there were more big fights on this card, I dont think Penn will offer much to GSP, he has been out of action too long.

Ring rust? Pfft. That's what they said he fought Takanori Gomi after taking a long time off and look what happened.

Franklin isn't stupid, he'll fight the smart fight. Franklin is taking the fight to the ground and using GnP or locking a submission.

"Pfft"? Are you saying my opinion is so stupid you are laughing at me?

Dont need to be a dick about it if you disagree with me, I think I have a valid opinion. GSP has been fighting top level competition for the last couple years, Penn has fought only once recently against that 36 year old Gracie and didnt look that tough to me.

I think its valid to say that GSP is on the top of his game and Penn is unknown if he can compete at this level right now. Penn had to lose a lot of weight for this fight and GSP is very strong at this weight, maybe the strongest besides Hughes.

Personally I think Franklin can hold his own in standup as well, I worry most about Loisieu's GNP - look what he did to Tanner's face. Well I guess Franklin did that to his face also, LOL.

Penn beat Hughes first round pretty easily. GSP lost to Hughes, pretty easily. Penn maybe chubby, but he has hella heart. GSP is on a roll though, its going to be a great fight.

Also guys, Christophe Midoux got hurt and was replaced by some rather unkown guy named Icho Larenas. So Tom Murphy will be taking on this guy instead. His arms are rather enourmous, almost looks like synthol injections they are so puffy. Take a look!

Doesn't UFC do piss tests? How could this guy pass, seeing as he had such short notice to fight, but also because he is CLEARLY on gear. He is about as puffed out as I've seen anyone. What do you guys think?

Franklin wins 5 round decision - dominated pretty bad

GSP wins 3 round split decision

Swick wins 1st round via submission

Murphy wins

Marquart wins
