Most likely it's being used as a liver supplement. It's been used to treat elevated liver enzymes, amongst other things. It's also called Ursodeoxycholic Acid.

It's designed for severe liver contamination and gallstones. It can stress the liver and kidneys if used for two long. I would not recommend it for bodybuilding/detox purposes. POST CYCLE and Liv 52 are plenty. If you need more than that, take a break from gear for a while.

Does it seem to work?

My enzymes were very high for a while and it did lower them to acceptable levels, but as Nelson mentioned, it's not just something you want to use as an everyday, year-round supplement, without a doctor's supervision.
