U.S. Cities with highest incomes

Doesn't surprise me that there are 3 DC suburbs on that list. This is one of the most educated parts of the country. Home prices are outrageous, especially where I live (Northern VA - location of 2 of those cities). People commute from West VA and further south (Charllotsville & Richmond) to work because of home prices. However, the job market is wonderful.

i live in CT. the richest, coolestest, most money makingest, bigest housestest state in the world.

i am the center of the universe.

That's like 5 times the mediain income of New Orleans.

I can only speak for the 3 D.C. suburbs on the list.

Not to far from me (in fact around the corner  ) townhomes are for sale at >750,000. New condos are starting at >275,000. I've seen ads for condos >$400,000. The homes in those cities go for at least 1,000,000.

There are a lot of people in this area with post-undergrad degrees. Lots of attorneys, high level govt-workers, lobbyists, doctors, etc.

They need to compile a list with income to cost of living ratio.

It doesn't do you any good to have a 6 figure salary if everything is so expensive.

Yep -- if you adjusted those relative to the cost of living in those areas they might be right up there w/ a trailer park in Alabama.

Missourri? Thats like the armpit of the country, dont they still have slavery there?

MI is Michigan. Missouri is MO.

Which seems oddly fitting...

I'm sure the cost of living in those places is correspondingly high too.
