I have no Fucking clue why we demolish countries in combat with hyper expensive bombs and Aircraft carriers. Expensive deisel burning ships,vehicles and tanks and go and rebuild the same shit we blew up. on top of that couching up billions in cash at the same time.
Its idioic.

Russia drove over Georgia to the capitol and then turned the fuck around..... Thats how its supposed to be.
Do the business and leave them to soak up the reason why they got their ass kicked.
This only apllies to Just causes though.

was the russian invasion of georgia a "just war"?
i think it was an excuse to flex tired worn out imperial muscles...furthermore i can't think of a major conflict that did not invovle winning troops lingering well after the fighting was over, in modern times (usa civil war, ww1 troops in the rhine, ww2 allies in the pacific and euroland) and ancient (roman gaulic quests, alexander's march, ottoman's in bzyantium)...the purpose of warfare is to gain something from the effort, not just go in kick ass and leave...

I was just using it as a reference of how it should be done. Not as a model of a "just war"

Back in the day it was for world/regional occupation, domination. Or religion.

i agree with that to some degree, but always lurking in the background are spoils...spoils in the modern sense seem to be not as bold as in the past (raw goods) but moreso influence and political power
