typical weight loss questions with salt

I'm pretty good with dieting, but my will power is gone. I lost all ambition after wrestling was over. I'm looking for a MMA training partner to train once a day for a few hours, but have been unsuccessful. I was at 198 over the summer, from 235lbs January 2004. SO i know i still have a little in me. I have to start runnign again, and train for an hour a day.

My diet question is...How much does sugar/sodium affect your diet? It seems as if I am taking in too much. But i do down a gallon of water a day so...IDK. BUt what exactly does salt do, when you are trying to get in better shape.

Well sugar is a lot diff. than sodium. Sodium makes you retain some water but that can be flushed out. Sugar contains calories, some cause huge insulin spikes and too much sugar, IMO, should be avoided.

ok so sodium can be flushed out obviously with water, but when you say 'retain' water, you mean to make you look bloated basically, I know i need to cut down on sugars, but i have to get the will power baCK LOL

sodium will make you a bit more bloated also it can raise your blood pressure. thats good your getting enough water though.

yes I have high blood pressure, like 140-150ish, but I have a aunt who walks daily, about 45 years old, runs 3 times a week, shes a dietician, and a HEALTH nut, she wouldnt touch chocolate if Favio offered 'it' too her, and her blood pressure is really high, she is like 5'3" 105 pounds too. As well does my dad and mom, and they are both in shape too, so i think i got the Hereditary end of the deal
