I'm a big fan of tumeric. I always throw a couple tablespoons of it into my rice when I put on my rice cooker. It adds a nice earthy taste to the rice and gives it a nice yellow color.


Tumeric is dirt cheap as well. Especially if you go to an east indian grocery store. I think I bought a KG for around 5 bucks.
