I seen this awhile ago and what happen was in the tug of war he took the rope and wrapped it around is upper arm and then held the held it in his hands. He figured having it wrapped then holding on would strenghtn his hold. And it did...so much that when the other team started out yanking them they pulled the rope so tight around his arm that with the tightnss and them pulling, that bitch just snapped off clean.
