Tuesday's with Morrie....

vixenbabe

Classy Skank
If you enjoy fantastic literature ; I would HIGHLY suggest reading:

"Tuesday's with Morrie" by Mitch Albom.

True story about love, work, community, family, aging, forgivness and death. The story of a student finding an old professor who is stricken with Lou Gehrig's disease. The story will make you cry, laugh and look at your life in a different way!

It's a short read, only 192 pages! It has to be the best 192 pages I think I've read in a VERY long time!

Havoc did you read it?

I loved this book!

"If you do not know yourself, how can you know the person you want to marry?"

"An open heart will always allow you to float equally between everyone".

A few of my favorites quotes....

I read it about 4 years ago, saw the movie as well. Good wisdom in the book.

I'll give it try based on your recommendation VB. I'm not a big fiction guy though, I prefer biographies and histories. My wife will love it . (Maybe I'll just have her read it to me!)

I knew this book would be something that you'd read Havoc! I am still reeling by his words!

READ IT TOTALPACKAGE! It will make you think about YOUR life!

Its not fiction.

He is a workaholic, arrogant, and really does not reflect what was taught to him by Morrie. He is not very well liked around here do to his "holier then thou" attitude.....he rips fans for not showing up to games he feels more important then others....

I like him already (kidding)

I'm not trying to take anyting away from the book, because it is very good....

I've just come to the conclusion he wrote it for $$$...

Bigguns....It changed my views on death.

I have always held some of Morrie's beliefs close to my heart in my real life anyways.

I guess it brought all the things I hold close to me..even closer!

Ok, now my interest is peaked. I assumed it was fiction because VB said fantastic literature, stupid me. But I have seen a lot of Mitch Albom's work on ESPNs "The Sports Reporters" and other shows. He has a good mind that I can relate to.

VB, another super-slammin' avatar!

I read that book about four years ago. I found Morrie to be a very interesting person. Although he seemed to be a man who believed in God and had faith, he never really revealed what specific religion he followed. He did say that he kind of adopted beliefs from all religions and followed those. It is still a wonderful read and I would recommend it to everybody.

Yes, he was born Jewish. He became an agnostic when he was a teenager.

I recall the page number where he spoke about his beliefs...page #81.( lol...did I ever mention I have a photographic memory?)

Nice avatar......my imagination is running wild right about now! :p

Back to the book...I'm serious..Page #81 tells of his faith and the change in his faith as a teen.

Hip flexor...Geeesh...
