trying to quit chewing tobacco

it is hard. I quit for about 6 months, then decided I should start back up:)...best way to do it is just quit. dont tell yourself only one or two dips a day, or one can a month, wont ever work. just fucking quit....I know a guy who quit., he's been clean for about 12 years. said every time he hears a lid pop open his mouth starts to water and has to fight it off.....Yeah i should quit as well. been doing it for a while now.

what in the hell does a dip have to do with making you shit???BTW, i could probably quit if i moved, all of my friends chew.-Josh

Drink a cup of coffee with a chew in. you will be shitting withen 2 min guaranteed. I dont know why, but that's just they way it is.

Six months is not that long so you should be able to quit. It is physically addictive so the first few days will be tough. Want to quit go to the dentist for a cleaning and let him tell you how your teeth are filling with plaque etc. For real though I use to chew for years when I wrestled and quiting was hard. I would throw the tin in the garbage and forget about it only to go picking through the garbage like some crack addict looking foward to packing my next dip. I quit because it started to hurt a lot when I packed the dip. That plus my gums where thinning out and it hurt like a bitch just to pack a lipper.

Best bet is just keep on throwing the tins away and sooner you will give it up. Pack 1 dip each less day until you go down to one then skip a day then two and then forget about it.

:FRlol: I did that a few times.

i try to only have one a day, and each day i get closer to not having one, but its f'n hard cause all my friends do it and they see nothing wrong with it. i used to do it to get a buzz, but i don't even get a buzz anymore

I quit smoking, and pretty much all my friends smoked when I quit. it wasn't easy. and it took me a few tries. just know that when you decide to quit, you can never have a dip again. because if you do, you'll be back to buying tins in no time. you're an addict, not much different than a person who's addicted to booze. you have to get it in your head that you'll never touch it again. Once you accept that fact, it will help. good luck to you.

I chewed cope for about 6 years. I only crave it now when I 'm hunting or working outdoors on the lawn. Sun Flower seed and hunting season ending helped me quit.
