those are all for pussies besides the Jeep

LOL. I know. I want that Jeep, but it's not very practical.

I've always heard the Corolla, Civic, and I think Maxima can easily go 200K with no problems. I've got a Mazda that has 165 K on it and still drives like a champ. I don't think you can say the same for most American made cars. Thanks !

Ford owns 33% of Mazda (fast fact courtesy of velvett) :)

When a buying a car with 90,000+ miles on it, you'll want to go with cars that have proven to last 200,000+ miles with little cost besides maintenance....Toyota or Honda is basically the safest bet like digi said....

I think Nissan falls into that category as well? Thanks buddy!

Huh? The Maxima is an excellent car and the guy dropped 1000$ off the price because it's black and he's tired of washing it every day.. We out in the country. LOL

i have an xterra that i've put 60,000 carefree miles on. . .the only thing that's ever gone wrong with it is the dash started to get flakey on the corners. . .dealer replaced it for free. . .no other issues. . .

my accord had 200,000 on it when i gave it to my dad. . .it has 250,000 on it now. . .the only things that were ever replaced were struts, front wheel bearings, front brake cylinders and a $15 sensor that operates the speedometer. . .

Damn! I also have a 94 Acoord with 120k on it. I'd LOVE it to go past 200k. I bought it for $16k cash in 94 lol, and it's been paying dividends ever since. Seriously, that has saved me a bunch of money.

I want another 100k out of it I want to give it to my grandkids! ha jk They'd shoot me.

Given those choices, I'd personally go with the Maxima. I owned Corolla (1994) and although the engine ran relatively well, everything else was falling apart on that hunk of crap (dppr handles, seats, wheel covers falling off, etc)
besides, a Maxima is a way sweeter ride than a CorollA

Looking at a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE loaded.. 94K miles at 7000$

2003 Toyota corolla LE..90K miles at 7000$

98 Grand Jeep Cherokee (automatic looks almost new) 80 K milles at 6000$

2003 Ford Escape (automatic) 65,000K miles at 8400$

Which one will last the longest without major problems (on average)

I hate to say it but statistically your best bet would probably be the Toyota. The next best bet would be the Jeep, especially if it has the 4.0 liter in it; those last forever if taken care of. '98 was the best model year for Grands; you might have to put up with minor noises in the suspension but hey it's a jeep and you'll have the best of both worlds (car/truck). Plus you can take those things almost anywhere.
