TRT for 10 weeks and Test is through the roof.....feedback please.

I had been doing 150/wk Cyp for 6 weeks and just got my tests back 4 weeks ago.........just a touch under 900 and feeling pretty good.

Dr felt I was a bit high so said get them tested again in 1 month. Latest results 1 month later, same amount per week (150 cyp) and my Testosterone levels are 1140.

Is this crazy or normal? Does it take a few months for test levels to level off? What should I expect and is this in fact too high?

Doc said he wants me to cut back to 125/week FWIW.

All feedback is appreciated.

Prior to TRT total test was @ 480

Just by the total number of test, there is not much you can say or do. It all depends on how much free test you have, if there is too much aromatization, etc. If everything else stays normal, then no problem with total test levels. Still, usually a common TRT dose is 100mg/week.

Also, take into consideration the timing of your shots to your blood draws. If you get a draw in the first 48 hours after your shot, your numbers are going to be a lot higher than if you're getting the draw say, 24 hours before your shot is due.

I think the only thing that may give a nice sustained release would be the pellets, but that's a whole other can of worms.

The blood test was 4 days after my shot if that helps.
I was just wondering why the big increase from my previous test....same amount of Cyp, no changes.
Also I'm told free test is not that as important as total (new research) says my Doc

Without knowing where your shot and draw were for the first go 'round, could be anything.

But like DJ said, 100 mg a week is the normal dose, that's what my husband has been on for ages now and he still hits the ceiling on all of his numbers. I've thought about having him reduce his dose a pinch just because his numbers ARE so high (I'm the mad scientist in the house). The results on his next bloodwork were going to decide that, but he had to reschedule his visit.

I wish all women were as open minded and kewl as you are about the subject of TRT

I'd like to see that reasearch. From what is known today, no matter how much test you have in your bloodstream, if free test is low, you'll feel like shit. Free test is the one in charge of your libido, sense of well being, mood, etc..

Are you telling me other wives/GFs don't feel this way?! My husband's quality of life was impaired until he got on the right dose of test and levthyroxine, to the point that his primary doctor wanted to put him on antidepressants! The symptoms were identical to clincal depression, can you imagine what would have happened! First the anti-Ds, then his test levels would have dropped to the point where he completely lost all desire, as well as the ability to have sex, and then he'd be on Viagra ... It's a fucking snake eating it's tail.

Frankly, take it as I'm saying it, I think just waking every morning with wood improves the quality of a man's life (even if he doesn't get a chance to use it, just knowing it's there, sort of) :whatever: Hey, it's the little things that make life worth living. Sort of the psychological equivalent to a woman having a good hair day or being able to fit into her skinny jeans ...

Anyway, I think HRT, male and female, is critical to health and happiness in later years. I want to desire sex, and maintain my muscle mass, as long as humanly possible. I fully intend to go on bioidenticals when I get menopausal. There is NO fucking way I want to be an old woman before my time, I've seen what happens. As soon as a woman enters menopause it's like a stopwatch starts running down and next thing you know, BAM six months, a year later, she's gone from being a vital woman in the prime of her life to an old lady.

I only wish I could afford HGH for him, but it's not in the budget.

900 to 1140 is not a huge increase. Pulling the plunger back an extra line or two on your syr could do that. I wouldn't worry about it.

Free test is the king - I would like to see your Doc's research on that one.

I am going back today and asking to get my E2 levles and Free Test checked.
Thx for the feedback......
Do you all think and anti E like anastrozole is necessary on such a low dose? Same question for HCG?
