also keep in mind if you have bi-polar disorder you will not sleep very much at night and feel refreshed anyway. i know a guy at the gym who says he sleeps maybe an hour a day... he went to a psychologist and after testing was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder for which he has to go on $600 per month pills which he cannot afford..
okay so everyone agrees it could be several things. but while we are on the subject on sleep let me add this. when i was in high school and got into weightlifting one of the first books that taught me the sport would mention SLEEP a lot. so since then I have studied sleep and have learned several simple things to do to help people get better sleep.
1. use the bedroom for sleep and sex only. get rid of the tv, the dog (make him sleep in another room), the book, whatever. people dont realize how much time they waste having a tv in the room and how disruptive it can be keeping you awake.
2. get rid of an alarm clock or hide it from view (crazy i know, but do you realize how often you look at that thing at night?)
3. wash your sheets atleast once a week with scent free detergent
4. get hard flooring, carpets are dirty
5. keep the area clean, that includes behind the bed and under
6. paint the room a calming color like light blue.
7. do not consume sugars or caffeine after 1pm.
8. like said above have a sleeping pattern... sleep at 10, wake up at 6:30 is perfect. you get 8 solid hours which is all you need.
9. lay off the drugs, yes the AAS too!
10. yoga, meditation, prayer before bed. something to calm your body
i dated a girl who had sleeping issues and its funny she took a pic of her alarm clock and put it on facebook saying "my alarm clock is teasing me" next to the alarm clock was anxiety medicine and diet coke. she is doing 3 things wrong right there. 1. alarm clock facing bed 2. anxiety medicine. 3. caffeine until she corrects those she will continue having trouble sleeping ... look for things you are doing wrong in your bedroom
