Trouble falling asleep...any ideas?

What type of things out there are good to help me fall asleep? I’m not running any gear (have been clean for 2 years) and have just started working out again for 6 weeks. My diet is fairly clean and I get up around 6:30 am for work. Are there any herbal or non-pharmaceutical products I can take? I’m not looking to rely on having a few tokes before bed every night and regular sex is not an option, unfortunately. I know that usually helps me. Any suggestions?

try some 5HTP and inositol about an hour before bed.

Shouldn't do it every night, but, try 1/2 or 1 tablet of unisom if you are having trouble falling asleep. I've used it on a few occassions and had good results.

Or, try some type of herbal tea around bed time. Sleepytime is a favorite of mind and I find it relaxing.

Melatonin works wonders for me...it's also one of the strongest known anti-oxidants and helps regulate your natural hormone production.

For some it doesn't work, but it's worth a shot.

I agree...melatonin is good stuff.

You might try taking high amount of magnezium. Also eat some slow GI carbs before going to bed, always helps me. 5-htp, inositol, melatonin, ZMA, Valerina root.

All good

melatonin
5HTP
Chamomile

An easy one is to take advantage of a glycemic or sugar crash.
Have something very sweet an hour before bedtime. Youll zoom and crash, just be near a bed.

This combo puts me right to sleep:

5-HTP 50 mg
Valerian Root 1000 mg
Melatonin 3 mg

1/2 to 1 hour before bed.

kava kava sometimes works for me. I get weird ass dreams from melatonin for 3 hrs & then I'm wide awake. Ketotifen knocks me out too but gotta take it earlier in the evening otherwise I sleep through the alarm in the morning)

fuck it use ativan, or if ya want to sleep super tight try this non controleld drug zyprexa, 10 mg and it nappy time

You could always use the search as there have been hundres of threads just like this.

However, I'd suggest a combination of Ambien and Atarax. A minimal dose of Ambien, 5-10mg, to get you to sleep and 50mg Atarax to keep you there. You can't do this every night or tolerance will build. I suggest atleast 1 on 1 off. If your anxiety is bad you probably have to go with stronger meds.

eat some turkey! the triptifan will help you out. IF you havnt been training and now you are training hardcore, than this could be the source. When I started working out (years ago) I pounded myself into the ground and gave myself insomnia, I just stopped training so damn hard and I could sleep again. Joe Weider claims it as a sign of overtraining in Ultimate Bodybuilding

Awsome info. Now I just have to remember all these damn names. It sounds like anxiety with me as I just got out of a 3 year relationship and we're still living together till we get our own places. It's hard to bring a chick over when your ex is in the other room. At least we are still civil to each other.

This isnt herbal - but try either remeron or amyltriptaline(elavil).

These are tri-cyclic anti-depressants, but they are non-addictive and you will get stage 4 sleep with both of these meds. Amazingly, remeron is a paradoxical drug where the less you take, the better you sleep.

Your doctor should have no issues about prescribing one of these to you. If he does, fire him.

Back in the day when i was overtraining (working out 7 days a week) I slept like a log, 13+ hours every day. Even after I woke up a took periodic naps throughout the day. It was horrid. Never heard of anyone getting insomnia, although you may get insomnia if you workout too close to your bed time.

Anyone remember NyQuill...lol

gellcaps dont have any taste

**WARNING**

if u take them, make sure you are 10 feet away from your bed, they knock u the hell out,

i couldnt make it up my stairs a few times after popping that shit, only bad thing is they have alcohol in them which can slow down test production, but its such a small amount it woult affect you too much
