I normally aim for 6 different exercises per body part
chest/shoulders/biceps triceps/back.
i normally start going heavy for about 3 of the exercises hitting approx 3-6 reps, superset maybe 1 or 2 hitting approx 20-30 reps, and the remaining just normal approx 8-10 reps. Usually spend between 1 hr 10 mins - 1 hr 30 mins in the gym.
Q. do you think this is a good idea to do heavy and light in one workout or do you think it may be better to do 1 week heavy then another week light.
because i've been pretty busy i thought i would give it a go to do 2 bodyparts in one go, chest and shoulders.
As i was going to do 2 bodyparts i thought the best way to go would be to do 4 exercises for chest and 4 exercises per shoulders. I used the best 4 workouts out of the 6 as if i was going to do them individually like i usually do.
Both my chest and shoulders were sore the day after. Which i love as i know i did some good work.
Q. do you think i may be overtraining if i usually do 6 workouts and this time i only done 4 per bodypart. I think part of it was that as i knew i was only doing 4 exercises i made sure that i did each one to the max, and not sometimes where i wouldnt try so hard as i know i got another 4 exercises to do.
Q. Or do you think this was because ive never done chest and shoulders in one single workout before at all.
