He's not a racist but he's a liability at this point as the majority leader. The NAACP will bitch and scream over the next few years so much about his comments and him having to "prove himself" to the voters that they will wrestle all the shit they want out of him. Minimum wage hikes? Stricer enforcement of affirmative action? More handouts? There's no limit.

At least he is stepping down, and not strong arming his party with the 50/50 split issue... I never particularly liked the guy.. And he did bring this all on himself. Talk about sticking your foot in your mouth. Staying in as majority leader and pandering to the whim of every minority interest wasn't a soultion that he would have been happy with in the long run anyway..
