Travel ideas for my honeymoon

my fiancee and I have been trying to figure out what we are going to do after the wedding, and since we waited to long to get passports we will be driving to our few select destinations.

here is where you guys come in,I dont know the united states much at all but im sure there is really cool stuff to do in november in Michigan,Ohio,Illinois,Vermont,PA,NY I just want you to tell me about them,we are likely going to goto two-three places time permitting and were thinking of kicking it off with a wine tour in the niagara region of ontario.

thanks for the input

If you ever make it down to Texas, you've got a place to stay for free.

thanks bud I definately appreciate it,I wish we had more time, but unfortunately we only get a week each, she has animals to save and I have cows to milk

we wouldnt have had enough time,we tossed the wedding together in 5 months and are both constricted for time off

When you taking your honeymoon? I'm gonna be in NY City I think in March for a week.

"Dating or being married to an American woman is like driving a beat-up Ford Escort. If you are only used to driving a beat-up Ford Escort, then you have no idea what it feels like when you drive a Bentley or Ferrari. You need to at least test-drive a Ferrari, so you'll have a reference point on what a real car feels like. "

This should suffice it....

Well, what do you guys want to do, natural stuff (hiking/biking) or museums or what?

You're doing the Falls, that's a gimme, particularly on a honeymoon (damn that maid of the mist is gonna be COOOOOLLLDD if it's even running)

1000 islands:

In particular Boldt Castle, very romantic

Let me ask my husband for other suggestions. November is sort of a drag for that part of the country, too early for snow stuff, too late for the leaves but still darned cold.

BTW, what exactly are you thinking of doing? Michigan, Ontario, Vermont, NY PA, you're covering a HELLUVA lot of geography. What do you want to keep the maximum driving to, how much time are we talking?

honeymoon is nov11-18th or something like that,I was just curious to those areas and then pick what is most appealing,we are into outdoor stuff so if there is anything like that, indoor water parks, any just cool must see attractions, maybe a museum or two along the way but we wouldnt plan to goto an area for a musem, but would definately stop for a agriculture museum or something like that.

that castle looks awesome and ive heard of it before but there is no ferry across in nov

first of all, fuck Illinois or ohio for honeymoon spots
upstate NY is sweet country...anything east of Pitt and west of philly is pretty nice as well.
if you decided to the michigan thing lemme know there would be lots to do here as well

Oh man it's gonna be coooolllldddd, pack your long johns. They start getting snow in Buffallo end of November.

You won't be competing with the tourists, that's for sure. Put it this way, the NY state park campgrounds close for the season October 20 (so they have the time to winterize their water lines).

PA blows unless you're into the historic aspect of Phila. (I'm a lifetime native, I'm allowed to say that). No snow in the poconos until mid december. As far as cities go, Boston or Manhattan are nicer/more interesting.

New England is nice, haven't been there after October, though.

It's called Colorado, bring your kilt, and get ready for a hell of a time and lots of outdoor shit to do.

Cheers,
Scotsman

yeah i could point you in the right direction
some sand dunes where that is allowed, though in northern mi atv's are only allowed on designated trails...so you have to trailer everywhere.
google silver lake sand dunes

the steak house you wanna go to for 28 oz prime rib
http://www.booneslli.com/Boones/menu.html
this is where you should stay, rates will be cheap due to the season
