I guess it's from the heavy bar, they are really sore.

Hate that part of it. ended up using a swiss ball between my back and the back wall and squatting with dumbbells. the heavier weights are good for grip strength too.

sounds like your form could use some work. you need to let your legs and lower back do the work not a pull muscle
