training twice a week better?

Nubly

Banned
i like to train my legs over any other bodypart. when im on, i train them twice a week because i enjoy it. my legs are better developed than any other bodypart. would training bodyparts twice a week, instead of once a week, be more optimal than once a week?

I work twice a week my legs too tues and thurs. I think three days is enough time to recouperate while on juice.

depends how hard you train..

if you go all out and destroy them, youll need at least 5 days rest.. at least!

but if you're half ass like most, 3 days should suffice.

i guess i do both. here is the leg workout i prefer when im on:

day1-
squats 5x 8-15
leg press 4x 12
hack squats 4x 8-12
leg extensions 4x 15-30
lying leg curls 4x 12
seated leg curls 4x 12
deadlifts 4x 6-12

day2-
squats 2x 20 (light weights)
leg press 2x 20 (light weights)
leg extension 3 to failure with a dropset at the end

I would say 2 would be better, and 3 would be even better yet. You nean some of you guys still buy into this crap printed in magazines about hitting a body part only once a week? Why do kinesiology books in college say the total oposite? Is the research invalid, or did Weider and Menzer transcend science and no longer need to look at modern research done on this subject?

how can you fit working out each group three times a day? i dont see how anyone can have an enjoyable workout by cramming it like that

DAMN! How do you do deadlifts after all that???

Im usually dead after leg presses..

im worn out as well so i only lift around 135lbs on the deads. but i like doing them at the end because if the stretch it gives me. i've noticed that it prevents cramping

If squats are done right, you shouldn't be able to walk for the next 3 days. Hence I train legs once a week

after a leg workout,my legs feel wobbly for about 30mins or so. the soreness doesnt come till the next day and only for two days at the most

nubley, I train each bodypart 3 or 4 times a week, and they aren't enjoyable. I do alot of striping sets, supersets and forced negatives. Its not about fun, its about owning the iron, and striving to build a better physique every time you walk in the gym.

i mean not enjoyable as in rushing the workout. it seems that 3-4 times a week would be rushed. or that you wouldnt do that much for x body part this day because you need to fit everything else into that same day

I don't do a great deal of volume. I focus in intensity. I almost never do more than 5 or 6 sets. After that it isn't like you can generate a great deal of intensity any more, if they are all out sets with forced reps, forced negatives etc. However, if you come back 8-10 hour later and hit the same muscle again, you an repeat the same process, at least if you are on gear, and get in a few more good sets that day.
