Training music

why is it that everyone has the same taste these days? disturbed, limp bizkit, jeesus. that is just crap. back in the day, minor threat was a different sound. I actually like the self titled song, minor threat. good band, but I prefer ian mckaye's days when he headed fugazi...

Definately a great band, but when lifting I need something more edgy and raw like Black Flag, Minor Threat - The more hardcore punk bands, then there is always room for OI!

I have actually had some of my best workouts when listening to sports talk radio. Might not have anything to do with it, but I have found that sometimes when I listen to something hard like Disturbed, Metallica, etc I get TOO UP and can not focus on the task at hand.

Hard rock or some kind of fast dance/techno music gets me totally pumped up to work out. The best thing about MP3 players (at least mine) is that its easy to change music every time you go to the gym. I always change my music up.

Trance for isolation and blocking everything out
Pantera for get the fuck out of my face I still have 2 sets left...Pardon the french

When I used to work out at my friends gym I would play Trance or Hardcore. Morbid Angel....hehe, my band used to practice next to them when I lived in Flori-duh. Trance does make you zone out so that you dont feel the heaviness of the weight as much. Ministry,Deftones,Beastie Boys,Helmet(they rock!),system of a down- anything heavy and driving would work for lifting. Actually I dont really wear an MP3 player or anything so I listen to what the gym had playing. I kinda zone it out after awhile.

Lots of Billy Ocean...

Yeah... right! :)

Anything hard will get you going. Get yourself in the zone and blast away. It's hit and miss as to what they play at my gym, so I want to get a player.

I listen to Green Day when I workout, I notice I can lift about 10 percent more. I got sick of hearing Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Nsync, that crap would give me a headache.
