Training Kicks

I need some new kicks.....looking for maybe a cross-trainer that can double as a solid running shoe...any adivce?

We need more information.

How much do you weigh?
Do you pronate? (Most important)
How much do you want to spend per mile that the shoe will give you? (or just a total cost of the shoe will do).
What conditions do you run in?

Best advice (and i think this is maybe the 20th time I suggested it on the board - maybe it should be a sticky) is to find a running store that does stride or gait analysis (same thing, different names). That's really something that has to be done.

I can't just say "Use these shoes, they rock" cause people have a lot of variation in what they really need.

Well, I'm not that much of a cardio nut to go to the extremes...just looking for a reputable, highly cushioned, running shoe for the treadmill. Sprints and walking. I have natuarlly high arches which cause some discomfort...I'm about 6'2, 190...looking at the NB and Nike lines........no advice? DOn't have a store like the one you mentioned in my area. Matter of fact, most athletic stores don't know jack....so I'm going on-line to purchase. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I can only make recommendations based on my own experience (low arches, neutral runner).

Take care with the selection as in the long run you may wind up getting shoes that cause unecessary pain and damage.

Off my head, I'd say look at the Nike Shox TL. They are made for 'big' guys with heavy impacts and the two pair I have had were quiet comfortable.
