Training college girls

heavy_duty said:
sorry man but I would have a shit if I knew my (paid) trainer was on an anonymous forum asking total strangers how he/she should train me :(

In the best interest of these ladies who are about to put all their faith in you, I think you should get a different job.

i agree. old post but ill feel better when i say this 80% of pt's DONT KNOW SHIT, i wouldnt give them 5 dollers for a 2 hour workout with them. if anyone is looking to use a pt find out some information about them, how long the have been lifting etc and probably do a visual to see if they even look fit or strong. i wouldnt even admit to being a pt eg75 hahahaha

eg75 do u just pay to get a pt certificate?

It's easy to compile a basic routine for a chic. I don't think there's a prob with you asking for advice or help....some of the most successful people in the most various industries have had to ask for help at some point.

The prob I see is that you're training different people. Each person should have their own routine. Design to fit THEIR fitness goals, their muscular strength and endurance, etc. IMO, you need to be giving these girls a fitness eval before you start designing a plan. Weight, body comp, measurements, have the been working out in the past year? EVER worked out? Do they have any sicknesses etc you should know about? How much time are they committing to in the gym?...etc, etc. You can't give me the same plan to reach my goals as a girl who's never stepped foot into a gym.

Coming in with a generalized routine....sorry bro, but you might as well line them up and walk them right into Curves.

JAMA recently published an article stating walking for 30 minutes 3x per week has more physical benefits than 20 minutes of circuit training at Curves.

No doubt!

If you're a personal trainer and don't know how they operate...go check it out. It's great to know what the "competition" is doing. It's a good theory for certain people (elderly, people with certain illnesses that limit them, etc) but for the average gym goer....negatory.

But, gotta give credit to the brain behind it...it's one of the top membership clubs out there.
