Training and ON......

JKurz1

Banned
Has anyone made serious gains training 6x week while on? How about the other extreme, training 2-3x a week and doing nothing on off days but eating and sleeping? When I say gains, I made solid, lean, proud to take your shirt off gains.......

I just cant fathom how some can only trian 45 min. a day 2-3x a week when on.......dont you feel like you never want to leave the friggn gym?

How about when off, does it change?

If you are intense enough in your workouts, you don't have to be there 2 hours or 6 days a week. All depends on your training bro, if you're doing one body part/day or 2 parts/day but hitting them twice a week.

I can make gains being in there 3-4 times a week for no more than an hour. That is Not on AAS

The maximum I have gained from a 6week cycle is 20lb. Cut back to about 16lb of lean muscle. This from a pyramid cycle of Test Cyp. and Deca after about 1yr off AAS.

you'd have to have an insane recovery ability, or be training like an old woman to make 6 sessions a week no matter how much gear you're taking.. if you can push serious weights for a bunch of sets and stay progressive 6 x weekly then I hate you :)

I go 3 x weekly no matter what i'm taking.. aas enhance volume tollerence and recovery but so much that joe average can start doing arhnold style workouts imo

Damn Tweakle, every thing you say is what Im thinkin. I wish you lived in my area I need a good training partner.

If you have been training long enough, you will no how your body will react. I don't workout any longer when"on". The workouts are just more intense and heavier. If you are unsure how many days a week and how long each workout, you are not ready for AAS. You should have complete knowledge and understanding of your own body chemistry before traveling down Gear Street. :Chef:

5 days when off easily and I go balls out 95% of the time.....hard sometimes, but once I start....it's on

+ it's only 50 minutes sessions.....18-19 sets.

going balls out that often is not productive. You really need to learn something about loading/deloading. if you do, I garuantee you results will be better.

Also, ditch the training a bodypart once per week. you should be squating, benching, and rowing at least twice per week no matter how you do it.

^^ BULLSHIT
You need to do chest and legs twice a week my ass.
What a moron.
I dont even do chest twice a week 2 weeks out.

i workout six times a week when on but i do arms seperately so it takes an extra day. legs twice a week is a joke

training bodyparts once per week is quite inferior to multiple training sessions seeing as the stimulus created by training only lasts 36-48 hrs.

Whats so funny about it? The programs that give the best gains in legs actually have you training them 3x week normally. most guys on the anabolic board don't know jack shit about training though.

You even mention the word dual-factor training around here and people look at you with cross-eyes.

I made really good gains on HIT naturally when I started training for several years.

I made good gains on my own type of HST using AAS.

I've made good gains using Westside style training naturally.

I'm not making enough gains now, though.

Hey your probably right, so im sure you have no problem postin a pic then and showing us what doing legs so much will result in . Right.

When I'm on if I feel like I can lift longer (almost always), I do. I don't buy into a strict regimen or schedule. If, at the end of a chest workout, I feel like I can bang out 30 pushups, I do them.

I don't say "Monday - chest, Wed - Legs, Fri - Back/shoulders". If I do chest on monday and feel good on Tuesday, I'll do legs. Wed I'll take the day off then hit back/shoulders on thursday. Legs again on Saturday, chest on Sunday. I've overtrained in the past so I'm very careful about proper rest, but if I go a little harder or more often, it's not like the muscles are going to snap in half. You know your body best, don't be afraid to take a couple days or even a week off if you're feeling rundown. Likewise, if I feel I can go 3 days in a row once in awhile, why fight the urge? It's that feeling of invincibility that drives me to lift in the first place.

Stuck, my nigga. Just like I said earlier, you must listen to your body. I'm the same way as you. If I can do another set, I do it. After a chest work-out, I'll blast some push-ups that night if it feels right. If I'm way to sore, I won't hit the gym at all. Who wants to have a half-ass work-out when they are not 100%!!!! :Chef:

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to chefbone again.

It's too bad no one else ever posts anything worth K. You're too smart for your own good bro!

Will you guys that train 5-6 times a week post your rotuine, sets and reps.....are you continuing to gain weekly?? Thats the real question.

well my workouts change so frequently that i couldnt give you a "routine", bc my training program is not routine....i can sort of break it down a little for ya though
day 1 - chest/bicepts/
day 2 - Back/tricepts
day 3- shoulders/ legs (every other time)
repeat days 1-3
day off
-cardio i do randomly and when i feel up to it, but i can assure you i do more than enough....Abs i do EOD
......each muscle usually gets 3 different exercises and usually 3 to 4 sets of each....but like i said, every workout is different for me, i change it up as much as possible, i think that helps with the gains, well, that and some certain pharmaceuticals! :p

bigD I wish bro.. I'd love to have someone bigger than me to kick my ass in the gym, the pussies and weiners I see do anything but inspire me. And the 180lb guys running more juice than me and all the fruity dudes mincing around in spandex..

how about just a back example and a arm example. Thos two I struggle with.
actually just did back so ill give you what i did today....i started with 1 set of pull-ups to failure (which for me is only 17, well 16 1/2 :p ) then i did 4 sets of wide grip lat pull-downs, 3 sets of seated rows, and the i did pulldowns with the narrow little triangle thingy i uses for seated rows (i dont know what you wanna call those)4 sets

JKurz1 said:
wow...no free wt movements??? you need some rows and deads bro!
i throw those in the mix sometimes....like i said i change my shit all the time, that was not a "typical" back workout, bc with me there is no such thing

LOL, I know what you mean, I used to workout in a yuppie gym too. I love the guys that think there the shit in the under aurmor :p

If your ever in the Indiana area look me up bro.

J Kurz, this is what I've been doing in my routines lately:

1)Chest/tri's/abs
2)traps/calves
3)delts/biceps/abs
4)quads/hammies
5)back/ abs/calves
6)off
7) repeat
This can be varied slightly. I don't like doing back and biceps concurrently. Not that great of an idea for my body. I get better growth seperating these two parts during the week. Abs and calves can be alternated everyday for me. I think they heal quickly. Now, I do 30 minutes cardio every morning, come home, eat, rest, go back to the gym, do weights and hit 30 minutes cardio again. If you notice day two is very light, so you can hammies in there instead of day 4. :Chef:

DAMN PEOPLE WHEN WILL YOU LEARN...to each his own

Personally i respond best to training to almost passing out but only 3-5 times/week Ussualy 3-4. This is when i grow.

lol, no $#@%

I love all these posts saying "you'd have to be a moron to do legs twice/week". What if he's only doing a couple sets each workout?

Before making gross generalizations realize that training volume is probably a much bigger deal than training frequency. There's a big difference in recovery between an HST leg workout and your Flex magazine 20 set leg workout.
