training and days off

hi there, was hoping to get some ideas on whats the best way to train. usually because of other commitments my friends and i train 5 weekdays in a row, and then have the weekend off. i think it would be more beneficial to train 2 days on 1day off. just in theory it seems to me that a more regular rest day in between days of training would be better for recovery. anyone have any thoughts? thanks in advance for your time. small1

It really depends on what type of training and your goals. But generally, yes it's better to have a day of just in-between. Your body only grows during rest, and you need time to recover.

Again, it does depend on what type of activities. Calisthenics you really don't need rest for (well maybe once a week) considering in the military they have you doing them daily. There's no need to wait 48 hours for the muscles to recuperate from a calisthenics routine. However, weightlifting or other taxing activity is another story.

T levels plummet after hard excercise, its best to have a day in between to let it even back out. I think I read that in John Berardi's The Big T article. Sounds like a much better split anyway, you can hit everything hard in those 4 days, and still have 3 days for cardio if your cuttin.
