Toyota is bar none the best automotive company on the planet. It's a shame their North American offerings are so tame. They've got some kickass cars that sell in other countries. I think they still make the Supra in all its twin-turbo glory for Japan.
Yeah i've heard that. Hopefully I'll have $ by then4everhung said:most likely any 5th generation supra would emerge under the lexus badge
what I like about my '98 supra turbo is that it is the last of the "fullsize" japanese muscle carssublime35 said:here's a link of what's supposed to be th 07 Supra.
"Toyota insiders say the reincarnated Supra should reach the market in 2006 as a 2007 model. The rear-wheel drive coupe, being targeted at the Nissan 350Z, will be powered by a twin-cam 3.5-liter V-6 and priced from well under $30,000."

Mr. dB said:They already have a full-size pickup, the Tundra. As a daily driver, it trounces the domestics. I dunno if it's really up to the task for the 1% of pickup owners who actually use them as work vehicles though. But for the majority who use pickups as grocery getters and trips to Lowe's, Toyota and Nissan have already surpassed the big-3.
I've read that Toyota has been "holding back" in the truck categorywutangnomo said:Yes I know about the Tundra, I meant they are rumoured to be looking at developing a heavy duty full-size diesel pickup for those that require the higher towing capacity and payload. They are looking at giving the Tundra a much needed facelift, or have they already done so?
The Toyota exec I mentioned earlier also said to expect a BIG hybrid Toyota truck. Again, vague as hell but he made this one sound more like a sure thing.Mr. dB said:They already have a full-size pickup, the Tundra. As a daily driver, it trounces the domestics. Basic_wonder said:Every year at the chicago autoshow you see some of these concepts and you just get use to them never being made. I'm the biggest toyota fan since I drive a Celica and am really hoping something big comes out in the next 5 years. If not I am buying a Scion TC with the supercharger package .....

The Saturn version of the roadster on the same platform has a better looking rear end.digger said:Saw the Pontiac Solstice the other day. Instant lust.
Me: "OMG, what is THAT?" Schwing!
Mrs. Digger: "Oh, that's the new Pontiac. Sunshine? Sunbeam? Something sun-related. Solstice, that's it. Didn't know it was out yet. Nice." (Mrs. Digger is the real car buff in the family.)
The NY Times review was "Eh." They basically said the MX-5 owned it coming and going... even the Miata's cupholders are better. So what? I still want one.
Portland is amazing if you're into cars, by the way. Classics all over the fuggin' place, and being driven every day. Old VW Beetles and Microbuses, T-birds, Buicks, '49 trucks, classic Porsches, you name it -- all out there on the road and most of them looking cherry. If it were dry like Arizona I could understand it, but there's mist in the air almost all the time.
