Torn muscle or pulled??? Take a look please.

I was about to work some legs. Well i did my usual, 1 plate on each side of the leg press for 30 reps. Then up to 3 for another 20 reps. I usually take my time warming up. Well the 2nd rep of 3 plates my left leg felt tight and just a little sting. After i just walked away and put some ice on it. Walking i feel nothing, i can flex it hard and just barely feel it. But if i try to walk up and down stairs , or just try to squat with my body weight it feels a little uncomfortable. No pain really. Now its a little sore to the touch? I put ice on it asap and im about to again. Can someone help me out here. I just started dieting for states and this is going to hurt me.
 
i have had a torn peck major and i know that when you tear muscle or tendons you can feel and hear it happening. so i think you lucked out and pulled it. just ice and compression and elevation.

Thanks for the kind words acroyer666. So far im icing for 20 min on then leaving ice of for 20 and then back. Im going to hit the creatine with glutamin both around 15 grams a day, in hopes of helping with repair and maintaining muscle. I will take anti oxidants and rest it a bunch.

I was thinking about hitting hamstrings and keeping them worked since it wont hurt to do that.

As far as Gh do you think like 4-6 iu a day would help this out?

YES YOU CAN! I just tore my Bicep two Fridays ago and am having re-attached on Wed. You can feel it tear.......Like somthing getting longer that should not have! And it POPS! pretty loud too!

You have a slight pull. Ice and elavete and rest. You will be fine. Make sure you are hydrated before working out and that your electrolytes are all up to par

I believe that gh is a bit drastic for your injury not to mention the costs. I know it is difficult to do but Just keep off it and ice it. a more conservitive approach would be celebrex for any inflamation. good luck.
 
I might be mistaken, but the word "muscle pull" actually is a very slight tear (3 grades). Its obviously a very minor injury regardless, especially if you didn't see any bruising. I tore my hamstring last year slightly and it healed in about a month.

I was taking 300mg of Eq and I think some test and it healed faster than the doc told me it would so I think the gear helped. Of course I also didn't put any stress on it and iced it 3x a day. Good luck and you should also check into massage therapy.
 
15 hr later

well today the leg is feeling 10x better than it did yesterday. The tightness is gone. But were it was hurt its now just a little red almost hard to see, its about the size of a quarter and runs a little. Its a little warm and tender in the red area. What does it mean? Small tear? What kind of time should i look at for resting it?
 
i've torn and pulled. you'll know the difference by day 2. if it's a pull, ice it and it should be good in a few days.

You will be fine. I would give it a couple weeks and then go back slowly. You should be fine inside a month. It actually sounds like a myo-fascial tear to me. Its a bag that goes around the muscle and it will heal 100%.

Quadsweep thank you for making feel better about the situation. I plan on taking 2weeks off then maybe some light stuff? I will see about that.

As far as my leg. Its the outside of the leg. Basically imagine where you inject in your quad. About 15 or so inches up from the side of the knee.... really weird place.

Im going to start a little heat followed by ice to help bring some blood in and rush it back out.

Ill let you guys know how it goes.
 
That's a really weird place to pull a muscle as it's much tougher than the inside of your thigh. Perhaps in future you will need to adjust your foot placement, i.e. slightly wider with toes flaired out at 45 degrees.

No doubt

My foot placement on the leg press were feet about a foot apart and my feet werent angled. Straight... i usually put them pointed out a little. Go figure. Its 2 days later now and the redness is almost gone... i really have to stare to find it almost. Now were it hurt its the slightest dip. I could only see it when the light was right. I think it will be fine once it recieves enough rest. Anyone think a massage would help this.
